A well known poet, Paul Mariani is also a professor of English at the University of Massachusetts where he teaches twentieth century British and American poetry courses. He is the author of eight books and dozens of articles and reviews. Dr. Mariani has received particular critical acclaim for his biography, William Carlos Williams: A New World Naked (1981) featured in the New York Times Book Reviewand nominated for the American Book Award. His most recent publication is Prime Mover: Poems (1985).
