Bernard F. Link joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943, participated in the invasion of Iwo Jima on February 19, 1945, and was wounded on the third day of that battle, during the assault on Mt. Suribachi. A graduate of Wayne State University, Mr. Link went on to work for Ford Motor Company and Old Line Title Insurance, headed a real estate investment and finance organization, and became president of the Grand Rapids Teachers Credit Union.
