Jay Van Andel is Chairman of the Board and joint Chief Executive Officer for Amway Corporation. In 1959 Mr. Van Andel co-founded Amway, a corporation with an estimated retail sales in excess of $1.1 billion for fiscal 1980. Mr. Van Andel completed his formal education at Calvin College, Morningside College, Pratt Business School and Yale University. He holds an Honorary Doctorate of Business from Northern Michigan University and an Honorary Doctorate of Law from Ferris State College. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Hillsdale College. Further, he is Chairman of the Board for the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C., and has served as Finance Chairman for the Michigan Republican Party and Advisor for the World Affairs Council in Grand Rapids.
