Maine’s Ranking Comedian Escapes Injury When Sweats Catch On Fire Making Hershey S’mores

Bob Marley, arguably Maine’s funniest export, was forced to dive into the lake by his camp when his sweatpants caught on fire while making s’mores.

Marley posted a Facebook video explaining the comedy of errors that suddenly weren’t so comedic.

He says he was making the candy treats on his campfire with his uncle Jimmy when Jimmy’s s’more got overcooked.

While helping rescue his 79-year-old uncle’s s’more from the fire, the blaze jumped from the embers into the leg of his sweatpants.

“Bobby your leg is on fire,” Jimmy reportedly shouted.

“I know Jimmy,” Marley replied as he sprinted toward the lake.

“I jumped in to put the fire out,” Marley says, laughing at the sight.

“While I was in the water I took off my sweatpants and my shirt and put them on the dock to dry and then I got up on the dock standing there in my underwear,” Marley recalled.

“Then I see a pontoon boat coming toward me with three 110-year-old ladies on it,” Marley said.

“One of them asked me ‘Bob, are you standing there in your underwear?’

“Yes, I am,” Marley replied before a second woman said “‘I don’t think that’s appropriate.’”

Marley was laughing heartily when a third elderly woman chimed in saying, “‘I don’t think he looks that bad.’”

The legendary Maine comedian blamed the whole thing on Jimmy, who had stopped by Marley’s camp with a grocery bag chock full of Hershey bars that he bought on sale at Walmart.

Jimmy was speechless at the bargain he got on the candy, Marley said, so excited he insisted they start a fire and make s’mores.

A day in the life of funnyman Bob Marley, the globetrotting humorist who travels the country featuring stories about Maine culture.

Now he’ll be telling audiences from Maine to California about the day his sweatpants caught on fire while making s’mores alongside his uncle with Hershey bars from Walmart that were on sale.
