Question of the Week 35

by | May 9, 2023 | Journalism, Question of the Day, Question Of the Week

Last week’s Question:
What percent of the World’s population lives in the United States?
A. 45%

B. 25%

C. 10%

D. 7%

E. 5%

F. Less than 5%

The answer is “F”. The population of the USA constitutes just a little over 4% of the World’s population. Americans tend to behave like we control the whole World. The truth is that China (~19%) and its neighbor India (~18%) are the World’s epicenter population-wise. There is no is better example of American hubris then President Biden’s plan to punish Russia for invading Ukraine: Biden believed that an American led boycott of Russian oil and gas would convince Mr. Putin to leave Ukraine alone. Instead, Russia is exporting more petroleum products than ever, with India and China buying 90% of those Russian exports. Meanwhile, Americans are paying more at the pump and sending BILLIONs of dollars in arms and cash to Ukraine. Brilliant.
A side note to all the global warming believers: You may force an all electric policy on Americans, but China and India are all in on fossil fuels!

This week’s question: In the context of pharmaceutical drugs, what does “NNT” stand for? (You should know the answer but I didn’t!)

  1. Non Normal Testing (procedure)
  2. Number Needed to Treat
  3. Normal Number Tested
  4. “N” Number Trials
  5. Normal Number Treated
