After University of North Carolina football announced Monday it was suspending its GM, a Redditor quipped, “Welcome General Manager Jordon Hudson.”

Stranger things have happened…

UNC said it’s put Michael Lombardi on administrative leave, declining to specify why, according to AL.com.

But on social media UNC football followers were joking the new GM could be head coach Bill Belichick’s girlfriend.

Hudson has made herself a common distraction to her former-Patriots-coach boyfriend’s college coaching career, hanging with the team on the sidelines whenever she sees a good camera angle.

“Congratulations are in order for Jordon Hudson,” Andrew Holleran of The Spun wrote Monday.

Hudson, the decades-younger-than-Belichick Maine native, is “no longer the biggest distraction for UNC football,” Holleran said.

The young girlfriend of UNC Tar Heels head coach has often made headlines during the 12-plus months of her boyfriend’s tenure in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

“Hudson, a former college cheerleader who met Belichick on a flight, has been labeled a distraction to the program by many,” Holleran reported.

And who’s been there when needed to defend her thigh-high leather boots?

None other than Michael Lombardi.

“My job is to focus on North Carolina football, and Bill’s job is to focus on North Carolina football, and that’s what he has done, and that’s what I’ve done,” Lombardi said a year ago after Hudson’s headline-making interview with CBS News trying to shut down questions about her relationship with Belichick.
