Are Voters Ready to Demand Honesty Over Party Loyalty Now?
Would the political party in power recover more respect by adopting certain policies of the prior regime that obviously were more effective than its subsequent reversals? Wouldn’t tacit admission of an evident misjudgment on the prime issue of a porous Mexican border with predictable negative outcomes strengthen its credibility? Is there still reason to protect a departing President from the reality of that misguided strategy? Isn’t it time for credible damage control in lieu of specious cover-up of an obvious fairy tale?
Bull-headed adherence to an increasingly discredited script can only result in further public embarrassment. Failure to acknowledge an evident mistake damages the party brand and invites further chicanery. Is it too much to think that our Congressional representatives are more honorable than that? The immigration statistics on economic impact and spreading lawlessness are no longer in question.
More than 161-million registered voters hold the cards as of November 5. Lock-step party loyalty is no substitute for serious public attention to the threatening realities of a dangerous world. Don’t forfeit your right to be heard.
