Know Your Representative
I love Maine and is why the outrageous bills coming out of Augusta has pushed me to run for State House Representative for District 39 (Northport, Belfast, Belmont.) When I talk about outrageous Bills, I’m talking about legislation like LD 1578. This is the “National Popular Vote Interstate Compact” that gives away our 4 electoral votes in Presidential elections to the winner of the National Popular Vote, regardless of the candidate Mainers voted for. LD 1619 authorizes late term abortions with NO amendments protecting healthy babies and Janet Mills new executive action, “The Office of New Americans,” uses Maine tax payer money to house, clothe, feed, educate and pay the medical bills of illegal migrants living here. Maine is not a rich State and we can’t afford paying for other countries residents while Mainers go hungry because they can’t afford to buy enough food at the grocery store. LD 2167 will address this Office of New Americans, under the guise of needing them as workers in Maine. Workers? Great! Let them work and pay their own bills like the rest of us.
I had a doctors appointment the other day and the Doctors assistant, right in the middle of medical questions, asks me if I needed food. I wasn’t sure I heard her correctly, so she repeated it. Apparently, people are complaining to their doctors that they can’t buy enough food because of the hike in the price of groceries. Therefore, the Doctor office I was at in Belfast had a food bank available. Meanwhile, our elected officials are paying for illegal migrants. Mainers should be FIRST on the list of people to help!
I met a legal migrant the other day who had fled as a child from a communist country. He watched as his families property was confiscated and family members murdered. He asked me, “What are you people doing here in America?” He stated we are giving away our rights and heading down the road to socialism/communism. I figure he should know what he’s talking about.
It’s time to STOP voting “R’s” and “D’s” and start voting for candidates that you best align yourself with, regardless of party affiliation. You must take time to Know Your Candidate! Like I said, I love the State of Maine and what’s happening here is literally bringing me to tears.
