Army Reserve Major and former Maine National Guardsman Michael Gary was forced out of his full time AGR position in the Guard and faced multiple investigations in what he believes was retaliation for his refusal to take the MRNA COVID vaccine when it was mandated for the military in August 2021. Major Gary, a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear or “CBERN” expert, in a recent interview with Chuck Ellis on the Muddy Waters podcast stated that he saw “red flags” early on during the Covid pandemic. Gary stated that he held private conversations among fellow officers regarding his concerns, and subsequently refused the mandated Covid vaccine.

Major Gary, who is also a combat veteran indicated during the interview that his service in Iraq is what initially began his questioning of what some have described as the military industrial complex. Gary recounted the absurdity of convoying daily in Iraq with limited rules of engagement, unclear mission objectives, and in a predictable pattern putting soldier’s lives at increased risk. Questioning the official narrative and refusing the Covid vaccine is what ultimately led to Major Gary being separated from his full-time position in the guard, as circumstantial evidence suggests, and more directly from the separation code he received on his DD214.

According to Major Gary, “JNC” is the separation code that signifies a discharge for unacceptable conduct, including moral or professional failures, and was the same code used throughout the military for individuals who refused the Covid vaccine.

It should also be noted that service members are trained from very early on to question, or even refuse an unlawful order. Although rare, and the lines often blurred, some have observed that service members who refused the experimental MRNA shots were in point of fact simply refusing an unlawful order. As a consequence, many of them were ultimately reinstated, except for Major Michael Gary.

Despite president Donald Trump’s executive order 14184 to reinstate members who had refused the Covid vaccine, Major Gary has yet to be reconciled, or even acknowledged for the injustice he has endured. Given the fact that Maine’s current governor has openly defied federal directives banning boys from playing in girls sports, Gary and others have speculated that Gary’s lack of response is yet another veiled attempt by the state of Maine to disregard anything handed down by the Trump administration.

Additionally, Major Gary had reached out to the Maine National Guard on March 11, 2025 via certified mail, to request his reinstatement in accordance with now federal law. Major Gary has yet to receive a response, but is nevertheless hopeful that his appeals for justice will sooner or later be heard, as the deep state narrative continues to be overtaken by truth tellers and whistle blowers like him.

In a last-ditch effort to be fully reinstated and exonerated from any wrongdoing, Major Gary has recently reached out to the office of Senator Susan Collins who will be up for re-election in November of 2026 and is patiently waiting for a response.
