Portland Police say they are investigating a Sunday morning stabbing incident on Portland Street that left one man injured.

Police say they responded to 45 Portland Street, the address of Dyer’s Variety Store in the city’s Bayside neighborhood, shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a 45-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center where he was treated and has been release, police said.

Portland Police say they have interviewed numerous witnesses, have developed a person of interest, and are continuing their investigation into this incident, although no arrest has yet been announced.

In a Monday press release, police said that no further details will be released at this time.
