Three Chinese Illegal Aliens Being Held at Cumberland County Jail

by Edward Tomic | Mar 20, 2025

Three illegal aliens from the People’s Republic of China are currently being held in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Maine’s Cumberland County Jail.

Fengqing Qu, 43, Huiguang Qu, 45 and Yuying Qiu, 47, were all booked at the Cumberland County Jail on Wednesday, March 19.

Booking records indicate that all three inmates are being held on ICE immigrant detainers.

ICE lodges immigration detainers against unlawfully present noncitizens who have been arrested on criminal charges or who the agency has probable cause to believe are deportable from the U.S.

Although the jail booking records state that all three inmates are from Portland, the ICE inmate locator shows that the country of birth of all three ICE detainees is China.

The inmate locator tool indicates that the inmates were previously being held at the Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls, R.I.
