Tulsi Gabbard Revokes Security Clearance from Cadre of Democrat Officials, and Bars Biden from Daily Briefings

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard revoked the security clearance of a cadre of Democratic staffers, officials and lawyers associated with highly-politicized activities on Monday and barred former President Joe Biden from accessing the President’s Daily Briefing, following a directive from President Donald Trump.

“Per @POTUS directive, I have revoked security clearances and barred access to classified information for Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, and Andrew Weissman, along with the 51 signers of the Hunter Biden “disinformation” letter,” said Gabbard on X.

Gabbard’s announcement formalized a decision made by Trump in February when he argued that President Biden set a precedent by rescinding Trump’s access to national security information after his first term.

“He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents,” said Trump.

Officials who lost clearance include:

  • Antony Blinken, Secretary of State under Biden.
  • Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor under Biden.
  • Lisa Monaco, Deputy U.S. Attorney General (AG) under Biden.
  • Mark Zaid, prominent attorney who represented Trump’s accuser claiming that he abused his power on Ukraine, leading to his first impeachment.
  • Norman Eisen, attorney who represented FBI agents in a suit against the Trump Department of Justice, worked against Trump in his first impeachment, and opposed other aspects of his agenda.
  • Letitia James, New York AG who brought charges against Trump.
  • Alvin Bragg, Manhattan District Attorney who prosecuted Trump and secured his conviction on felony charges.
  • Andrew Weissman, deputy special counsel leading the investigation into claims that Trump colluded with Russia in the 2016 election.

The list of revoked clearances also included the 51 now-infamous former intelligence officials who signed a false statement claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop was likely Russian disinformation.

In addition, Biden will no longer be able to receive the highly classified President’s Daily Brief, a briefing given to presidents every morning, informing them of classified national security information and covert operations. Typically, former presidents are able to receive the briefings upon request with the approval of the current president.
