Did Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw Really Threaten to “F***ing Kill” Mainer Tucker Carlson If They Ever Meet?

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Tex.) told a British journalist that he would kill prominent Maine-based conservative media personality Tucker Carlson if he meets him, causing social media to erupt in response.

During a hot mic moment following a Monday interview with GB News’ Steven Edgington, the former Navy SEAL made his enmity for Carlson pretty clear.

“After our interview I asked Dan Crenshaw if he had ever met @TuckerCarlson. He said: ‘I would kill him if I saw him’ I laughed it off. He then said: ‘No seriously, I would kill him,’ recounted Eddington.

After the clip went viral and stirred up controversy, GB News deleted it, but numerous other accounts reposted the clip.

The muffled audio seems to depict Rep. Crenshaw saying, “if I ever meet him, I’ll fucking kill him.”

He appears to add “He’s the worst person,” before the video cuts.

The clip does not capture Crenshaw reiterating the apparent death threat a second time as Eddington claimed, though it is possible that he continued speaking after the recording cut out.

Crenshaw’s comments came after Eddington asked him about his continued support for sending hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) questioned Crenshaw on X about his comments, but he denied saying that he would kill Carlson, despite video evidence.

“@DanCrenshawTX did you threaten to kill my friend @TuckerCarlson,” asked Rep. Greene.

“Lol, no,” responded Crenshaw.

Tucker responded to Crenshaw’s death threat by inviting him for an interview and offering to send the congressman his personal address.

“Why don’t you come sit for an interview and we’ll see how you do? I’ll send you my address,” said Carlson.

Even if, as appears likely, Crenshaw does not actually intend to murder Carlson, it sets a concerning precedent of a sitting U.S. congressman appearing, even if in jest, to make death threats against a prominent journalist with whom he disagrees.
