A lifetime sex offender registrant from Lewiston was arrested this week after he attempted to meet what he thought was a child for a sexual relationship during a law enforcement sting operation.

Lewiston police say that the undercover investigation targeted 48-year-old Luke Johnson of Lewiston.

According to the Maine Sex Offender Registry, Johnson is a lifetime sex offender registrant due to prior state convictions on charges of solicitation of a child and possession of sexually explicit material depicting a minor.

As of 1999, those convicted of a sexually violent offense in Maine are required by statute to register as offenders for life.

In the course of the investigation, Johnson was communicating with an undercover officer he believed to be a minor child, and arranged to meet the child at a local establishment “with the belief he was meeting the minor child for the purpose of have a sexual relationship,” police said.

Johnson was taken into custody without incident by the investigators, and was transported to Androscoggin County Jail.

The Lewiston Police Department say they partnered with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) for this case, and were assisted by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department and the Auburn Police Department.

Perverted Justice is at it again.
2 days ago I got a SMS text on my phone from a young lady who was obviously too young to be texting strangers from her {?} cellphone. Her picture was a portrait headshot, she appeared to be Amish, headscarf, long hair to her shoulders which were covered by the top part of a denim dress/uniform{?}. In part of our conversation, she called me (a) goy. So she could have been from a traditional Jewish family.
This is NOT the first time anything like this has happened to me. Its been off and on over the decades.
Its beginning to feel that Im being targeted!
Anyone else gone through this more than once??
    Male or female???
By all means reply! Thank you.
