Three people were arrested are facing a slew of narcotics and other charges after police found methamphetamine, fentanyl, a handgun and other drug trafficking paraphernalia in a vehicle at a convenience store in Medway over the weekend.
East Millinocket Police say an officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked at a local convenience store in Medway on Sunday evening, and recognized one of the occupants at 25-year-old Lindsay Gardner of Linneus.
Police say Gardner appeared under the influence and began to physically resist when asked to exit the vehicle. The officer also observed drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle, according to statement issued by the department.
A second East Millinocket Police officer responded to the scene, and after a brief struggle restrained Gardner, as well as a second occupant of the vehicle, 34-year-old Daniel Ferranti of Presque Isle.
A third occupant who was inside the convenience store at the time of the initial encounter was identified at Colter Cross, 37, of Woodland.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found suspected methamphetamine, suboxone, fentanyl, a handgun, cash and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Police say Gardner was on probation and Ferranti was under bail conditions at the time of the incident.
All three of the vehicle’s occupants were arrested and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
Gardner was charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, refusing to submit to arrest and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Ferranti was charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and violation of bail.
Cross was charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, possession of firearm by a prohibited person, operating after revocation and was held on a probation violation.
