With three recent votes, U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree (ME-CD1) has taken extreme positions on immigration and transgender ideology, including opposing bills that would protect women and girls’ sports and deport illegal aliens arrested for sexual assault.
Rep. Pingree, along with 144 other Democrats, voted on Thursday against Rep. Nancy Mace’s (R-S.C.) Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act.
“145 Democrats have a lot of explaining to do after being given a second chance to protect women and girls from illegals who r*pe, m*lest and m*rder them,” said Rep. Mace on X.
Mace’s bill prevents anyone from coming to the U.S. if they have previously committed a sexual or domestic offense and orders the deportation of any immigrant arrested for domestic violence or sexual crimes.
Pingree voted to protect illegal immigrants from deportation rather than to protect American women and girls from sex offenders living in the U.S. illegally.
She voted against the same bill in September when it first came to a vote in the House under a then-Democrat-controlled Senate.
Despite Pingree’s opposition, Mace’s bill passed on Thursday with a 274-145 vote, even drawing support from Rep. Jared Golden (ME-CD2).
Pingree didn’t just vote to keep illegal immigrant sex offenders in the country in recent days.
The far-left congresswoman also voted against the Laken Riley Act, named after the 22-year-old Laken Hope Riley, who was murdered by José Antonio Ibarra, 26, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela.
Prior to the murder, Ibarra was arrested multiple times for smaller offenses, including possessing stolen goods, but did not face deportation.
The bill would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to detain illegal immigrants arrested for theft-related crimes.
The bill would empower states to sue the federal government over failure to enforce immigration laws, including cases when the federal government releases the illegal individuals back into the U.S.
Pingree opposed that bill, along with 158 other Democrats.
Golden again broke with his party majority and voted in favor of the bill, which passed with a 264-159 margin.
Both Pingree and Golden voted on Tuesday against the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.
That bill, which nonetheless passed with a 218-206 margin, would prevent males from competing against women and girls in school sports, regardless of their self-determined gender identity.
Pingree did not post anything on social media defending her votes to allow men in women’s sports or to protect illegal immigrants over American women.
