Three people, including two individuals from the State of Georgia, were arrested on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Auburn on Friday.
On Friday, January 3, the Auburn Police Department’s Proactive Community Enforcement Unit (PACE) conducted the traffic stop as a result of an ongoing investigation regarding drug trafficking in Auburn.
The individuals in the vehicle were identified as 19-year-old Aliyah Jeanpaul of Westbrook, 22-year-old Wakarii Weeks of Georgia, 22-year-old Michael Cressey of Georgia, and a 17-year-old female from South Portland.
Police say the traffic stop led to the seizure of two firearms, approximately $3,400 cash in suspected drug proceeds, and oxycodone pills.
According to Auburn Police, Jeanpaul was on bail at the time of the traffic stop for other pending criminal matters, and had a bail condition not possess firearms.
She was arrested for violation of conditions of release, and was later released after posting $250 cash bail.
Wakarii Weeks was charged with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Police say Weeks had felony convictions out of Georgia for drug and firearms charges.
Michael Cressey was also charged with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm due to prior convictions in Georgia.
He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of scheduled drugs.
Both Weeks’ and Cressey’s bail was initially set at $500 cash.
The 17-year-old female from South Portland was released from the scene of the initial traffic stop to custody of her parents.
Following the arrests, the Auburn Police PACE Unit searched a residence on Dunn Street in Auburn where Cressey and Weeks had been staying.
During the search, approximately 112 grams (4 ounces) of crystal methamphetamine, four grams of crack cocaine, digital scales, 75 grams of an unknown substance, and another firearm were seized.
Weeks and Cressey were then charged with Aggravated Trafficking Scheduled Drugs, class A and two counts each of Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs, class C.
Bail for the pair was then upped to $25,000 cash.
