Assessing Blame: Trumps Legacy vs. Bidens Leadership Amid Ongoing Divisions
Who is at Fault?
Democrats delight in castigating decisive Donald Trump on grounds of personality rather than his noteworthy 2017-21 socioeconomic accomplishment, disrupted by a global health phenomenon.Based on subsequent circumstances, isn’t it appropriate to excoriate and repudiate the present administration (an entire party, not solely its backup spokesperson) for desultory results over the subsequent four-year term – and failure to plan for procedural succession? The apparent election choice is between a proven forthright leader and an overmatched neophyte unable to articulate coherent, forward-looking initiatives distinct from her opponent’s clearly stated objectives. One responds promptly at length to policy questioning, while the other is evasive and vacuous.
Polling reflects notably broad support for certain policy proposals advanced by Republicans and subsequently echoed by the Democrat candidate.Which is more likely to be sincere and credible? Can you feel comfortable backing a candidate who is demonstrably timid and tentative – and therefore may not prove trustworthy?Either way, the next president is likely to be restrained by another divided Congress.
Publicized divisive conduct in our democratic republic is an invitation for interference by malign foreign interests. The real threat should be seen as external, not the opposition party or its presidential candidate.
