CNN Preps Audience for Trump Popular Vote Win

Could former Republican President Donald Trump win not only the Electoral College but also the popular vote in 2024?

It’s a possibility that CNN is preparing its predominantly left-wing audience to face.

In a segment on Friday, the network brought on polling guru Harry Enten, who cautiously informed viewers that Vice President Kamala Harris is severely underperforming her Democrat predecessors in the aggregate national poll margin.

In 2016 and 2020, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and then-Vice President Joe Biden entered the final week of October with, respectively, a six point and a nine point lead in the aggregate national polling average.

Harris’ lead is down to just one point, per Enten.

“Part of my job is to warn our viewers, on either side of the aisle, of an event that may occur, that they don’t necessarily like, and Donald Trump winning the popular vote could absolutely happen,” Enten said.

“You might as well wrap your minds around it now folks if you don’t like Donald Trump,” he said.

Although Trump won the Electoral College 304-227 in 2016, he did not win the popular vote. If he were to win a majority of voters nationally, he would be the first Republican candidate to do so since former President George W. Bush in 2004.
