Maine Wire Editor-in-Chief Steve Robinson joined the Maine Policy Institute’s Pine Tree Pulse Podcast on Friday to explain how we can prove that non-citizens, including legal aliens and paroled illegal aliens, are registered to vote in Maine elections–and some have had votes cast in their names.
In the podcast, Robinson answers many of the questions readers and critics have had about the nature of the reporting, the underlying source documents, and the request from Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey (D) and Secretary of State Shenna Bellows (D) to hand over the identities of non-citizen voters.

Here’s the Oct. 11 letter in which Frey and Bellows, the former head of the American Civil Liberties Union in Maine, asked Robinson to provide information that would reveal the identity of his source for the reporting and allow Frey to prosecute non-citizens.
As Robinson explains in the podcast, he will not comply with this request, as doing so would place his sources at risk and expose non-citizens, who may be victims of identity theft, to deportation.
