Biden Seen in Public for the First Time Since Announcing His Withdrawal from the Presidential Race

President Joe Biden has been seen in public for the first time since releasing a statement on X saying that he has dropped out of the presidential race, as concerns grew among Republicans that Biden had died, was seriously ill, or that his resignation statement had been posted without his approval.

Reporters confronted President Biden on the runway as he prepared to board Air Force One en route to the White House.

“How are you feeling since you dropped out of the race sir,” asked one reporter.

Although the video shows Biden opening his mouth to speak what appears to be only one or two words, they are completely inaudible, and he does not say anything else before boarding Air Force One.

The brief appearance is the first time the president has been seen in public since the White House said he was diagnosed with COVID last week and was sequestered in Delaware.

The strange circumstances led to calls from some Republicans for Biden to show some proof of life, as he had not appeared on video to address the public after dropping out of the presidential race.

“I demand proof of life from Joe Biden today by 5:00pm. He needs to get in front of some camera and discuss if he’s aware that he dropped out. Hiding is completely unacceptable,” said Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Color.) on X.

Although Biden still has not discussed his decision to drop out of the race, he has scheduled an address for Wednesday night.

“Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people,” said a message posted to Biden’s X account.

Although Biden has now shown that he is alive and apparently not suffering from a debilitating illness, the circumstances surrounding his decision to drop out and his method of announcing it remain shrouded in mystery.
