The nation watched as former President Donald J. Trump was nearly killed by a shooter. Three other people were hit by bullets, one fatally while saving his family. I watched in horror as a President was shot. November 22, 1963, came flooding back to me. The horror that someone would be enabled to get into a position to do that was very disturbing. At the time that JFK was assassinated the blame went immediately to Lee Harvey Oswald. It was so quick that many speculated on its’ plausibility. Events turned to conspiracy when Ruby killed Oswald before he could say much. I, like many others at the time, were not convinced that the Secret Service, “Got their man!” Fast forward almost 61 years and we have another highly unlikely assassin candidate. A 20-year-old with no known behavior defects except he was a loner, like Oswald. Also, like Oswald he was given the opportunity to position himself for the shot. But many have indicated that was an unlikely scenario given the openness of the area involved. So, how did he succeed? I truly believe that Oswald did not work alone. He was a patsy. He did not make the kill shot. Do we know if the shots came from Crooks’ gun? The Secret Service is not sharing anything, ONCE AGAIN! So, maybe it was Oswald or maybe it was Crooks. Or maybe it was the presence of the opportunity given by the Secret Service…Think parameters…yet again! Coincidence???
