Politics in America clearly are undergoing generational change at a time when most other large nations are not. As we stand by to see who will survive preliminaries to be on the presidential ballot in November, the voting public should be focusing on the potential “man or woman in waiting” as running mate for a likely one-term winner as matters stand.
Will the respective parties have enough strategic sense to take the same “next generation” approach? Can a third party emerge in such a short time? Would Americans conceivably vote for a prominent and respected person of influence instead of a party platform?
