The newly established ‘White Dudes for Harris’ group hosted a fundraising event over Zoom in which numerous white male celebrities and politicians fawned over Vice President Kamala Harris, criticized former President Donald Trump, and sold political hats.
“I am so glad she has made freedom the theme of her campaign, in so many ways that’s what’s at stake, and yes, women’s freedom is exhibit A after Donald Trump demolished the right to choose, of course men are also more free in a country where we have a president who stands up for things like access to abortion. Men are more free,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, speaking during the Zoom conference.
Buttigieg, who recently adopted a set of twin babies with his husband Chasten, did not elaborate on how men are “more free” when women are allowed greater leeway as to when and why they can end an unborn life.
The event drew in hundreds of thousands of viewers, reportedly sold 5,750 ‘White Dudes for Harris’ hats, and raised an alleged $4 million for Vice President Harris’ campaign.
Throughout the event, speakers criticized the traditional ideas of masculinity, with one speaker calling the idea that men should be protectors and providers a “myth.”
“Masculinity as a trope has been co-opted by the MAGA right into something that feeds into and exacerbates the loneliness epidemic as well as the mental health epidemic that many face,” said one presenter.
The presenter, who appeared to be rocking a man-bun, said traditional notions of masculinity are especially harmful to men who believe they are women and other “marginalized” communities.
The event also featured comments from celebrities including Jeff Bridges, Mark Hamill, J.J. Abrams, and numerous others who threw their support behind Harris, many of them suggesting that it is time for a woman to be president because women are better fit to lead the country.
One actor, Josh Gad, delivered an emotional speech about his reaction President Trump won the election in 2016.
Gad, best known for his role as the voice of Olaf in “Frozen”, said Trump’s election win brought him to tears.
“I stood over my kid’s bed and I wept, um, I wept because I felt like I let them down, I wept because they have the chance and we have the chance to have a female president for the first time,” said Gad.
Hamill, who grew famous playing Luke Skywalker in the first three Star Wars movies but has recently participated in some of the series worst attempts at new canonical entries, delivered some of the harshest rhetoric on the call.
Instead of toning down rhetoric, Hamill claimed that Project 2025, which he believes is linked to Trump, is “more terrifying than anything Edgar Allan Poe or Stephen King ever wrote,” and claimed that Trump wants to be a dictator and destroy democracy.
Interestingly, one of Maine’s most prominent white men who supports Harris, Stephen King, did not attend the event.
White Dudes for Harris is not the only racially segregate group Democrats have created to support her presidential bid; it was modeled after the Black Women for Harris group.
Following the massive Zoom meeting, in which rich liberal Hollywood elites begged average American men to support a candidate who was deemed the most liberal senator during her time in Congress, the White Dudes for Harris account was suspended from X.
The suspension cited only “unusual activity” and did not provide any further explanation.
The account was restored shortly after the suspension, following backlash from Harris supporters who believed that the suspension was politically motivated.
Elon Musk has not commented publicly on the reason for the suspension.
